FaviaThen-Tubettificio, always active in the search for innovation from the technological and sustainable point of view, has studied the implementation of an ecological and biodegradable closure capsule for its tubes.
It is a capsule made of a biopolymer, called bioplastic, a material of natural origin obtained from various sources such as cellulose, pineapple stalk or algae; all plant sources that give rise to a material similar to traditional plastic in terms of strength, stability and flexibility.

For the compostable capsule, the company has chosen certified technopolymers comparable to hard plastic in terms of strength, robustness and reliability, but of completely natural origin.

The bio-materials chosen are a perfect combination of Science and Nature, the result of the patient research work carried out by the best European laboratories over the years of work and dedication.
Compostable
It retains its integrity for a long time in using context, but once its use cycle is over it can be disposed of as organic waste because it has the ability to degrade completely.
Eco friendly
It can then be thrown among household organic waste, turning itself into humus fertilizer for the soil from which new plants can grow. A true symbol of rebirth that goes well with aluminum, capable of being reborn infinite times because it is infinitely recyclable.

In fact, collapsible aluminium tubes are the perfect example of sustainable packaging: aluminium is 100% recyclable to infinity without ever losing its original qualities. Furthermore, the recycling process requires 95% less energy than raw material production.
The plasting closing cap: the only weak point
The only weak point from the point of view of sustainability is the closing cap, generally made of plastic. Of course, even plastic is recyclable; however, its recycling process is not comparable to that of aluminum in terms of its impact on the environment.

Once any point of the tube has been scanned, the app links to exclusive digital content, such as videos, surveys or any other content, even textual, that would require much more space than just the surface of a tube.
A solution that turns green packaging into a true digital communication tool and that unlike a QRCode has the advantage of not disturbing the graphics and being impossible to counterfeit.
